RBI Assistant Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2022


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the RBI Assistant Syllabus & Exam Pattern for the post of Assistant along with official notification of RBI Recruitment 2022. RBI Assistant 2022 Preliminary Exam Dates have been announced for 26th & 27th March 2022. All the candidates who are planning to appear for RBI Assistant 2022 Recruitment exam are now looking for the RBI Assistant Selection Process, Exam Pattern and Syllabus as decided by the Reserve Bank of India. RBI Assistant Selection Process

The selection procedure for RBI Assistant 2022 will be conducted in three phases as mentioned below. The candidates who want to grab the job opportunity of Assistant in the banking sector have to qualify in each stage of the selection procedure.
  • RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam
  • RBI Assistant Mains Exam
  • Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
RBI Assistant 2022 has a specific syllabus for all the sections asked in both preliminary examination and mains examination. The major sections covered are:
  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude and
  • Reasoning
The above mentioned three sections are the common sections asked in both the preliminary exam and the mains exam. An additional section of General Awareness and Computer Knowledge is asked in Mains Exam apart from the above mentioned three sections. Sectional cut-off as well the overall cut-off for each phase of the examination must be cleared by a candidate in order to get selected for further rounds of the RBI Assistant 2022 Exam.

RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam Pattern 2022
  • There will be 100 questions from 3 sections; English language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability
  • The time duration of the RBI Assistant Prelims Exam is 60 minutes (each section for 20 minutes).
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
  • The questions will be of Objective type
  • Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi.
  • The marks of the Prelims Exam will not be counted in the merit list, as the Prelims exam is qualifying in nature

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2022
  • There will be 200 questions from 5 sections; English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability
  • The time duration of the RBI Assistant Mains Exam is 135 minutes. Section-wise timing has been mentioned below.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions.
  • The questions will be of Objective type
  • Except for English Language, other sections will be in English and Hindi language.
  • Candidates qualifying Mains Exam will be called for Language Proficiency Test and marks will be counted in preparing the merit list.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) 2022

The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below. The candidate who is not proficient in the official/ Local Language will be disqualified.
