• Pay Scale: Level-2 in the Pay Matrix (Rs.19,900 - Rs.63,200) as per 7th CPC.
• Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, and other facilities as per rules.
• Pension: Governed by the "New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme" effective from January 1, 2004.

Qualification : SSF Recruitment 2026

1. Constable (Barber)

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised School or Institution/Board. Candidates will also have to pass a Trade Test in the profession.

2. Constable (Washerman)

• Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised School or Institution/Board. Candidates will also have to pass a Trade Test in the profession.

Physical Standards

Height:

• General: 170 Cms.
• Hill Areas (Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, etc.): 165 Cms.
• North-Eastern States: 162.5 Cms.
• Scheduled Tribes (ST): 160 Cms to 162.5 Cms depending on region.

Chest (Unexpanded/Expanded):

• General: 80/85 Cms.
• Hill Areas: 78/83 Cms.
• ST: 76/81 Cms.

Eye Sight: 6/6 in both eyes without correction/glasses.

Selection Process : SSF Recruitment 2026

Phase I:

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 1.6 Km Race in 7.30 minutes, 11-foot Long Jump (3 chances), and 3.5-foot High Jump (3 chances). PET is qualifying in nature (not applicable to Ex-Servicemen).
• Physical Standard Test (PST): Screening for Height, Chest, and Weight.

Phase II: 

• Written Examination (50 Marks):
• Objective type MCQ (OMR or Computer Based).
• Subjects: General Awareness (15 marks), Elementary Mathematics (10 marks), Analytical Aptitude (15 marks), and Basic English/Hindi (10 marks).
• Duration: 1 Hour. No negative marking.
• Qualifying marks: 18 for UR/Ex-Servicemen, 17 for SC/OBC.

Phase III: 

• Trade Test (50 Marks):
• Qualifying marks are 50% for all categories.
• Activities: Barber (haircutting, massage, tool knowledge) and Washerman (washing, ironing, dry-cleaning, detergent knowledge).

Phase IV: 

• Verification of Documents and Medical Examination:
• Verification of original testimonials followed by Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME) if necessary.
