- Candidates must have passed DGCA conducted knowledge examinations as applicable in the respective category as under:
- Must have passed all B1 or B2 Modules of DGCA or hold B1 DGCA License or B2 DGCA License within AIESL capability. (RT License would be preferred) .
- Minimum aviation experience (current practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft as prescribed under CAR 66) of 05 years out of which at least 2 years must be in the services of AIESL.

- The candidates found suitable by a committee constituted for the assessment of the eligibility criteria shall be considered for the post.
- The selected candidates will be designated as Trainee- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer till such time they acquire the DGCA license or equivalent qualification.
- The existing pay of the selected candidates would be protected during the period of training.
- They will continue to perform their existing duties/functions and any other duties assigned to them in their present cadre till acquisition of the DGCA Licence or equivalent qualification and absorption in the respective cadre.
- The selected candidates may be posted to any station/ region as per the requirement of the Company.
- The candidates would be imparted DGCA approved Type rated B1/B2 training as per company's requirement and will be required to execute a training bond as per the training policy.
- On successful completion of the approved training and after fulfilling the experience requirement, the candidates would be required to obtain DGCA License or equivalent qualification.
- On acquiring the same in the appropriate category and on completion of training period the candidate will be placed in the applicable scale of pay.
- If the candidate fails to acquire the qualification within 4 years of joining as Trainee AME and offered type course, he/she will be reverted to his previous position and his/her Bond Amount will be recovered.
- The candidates will remain in the parent vertical (AIESL/ AIX/ AASL) and will continue with same type of employment arrangement (Permanent/ Fixed Term) after acquiring the requisite qualification and absorption in the respective cadre.

1. Who is eligible to apply for the Trainee AME position?
Only serving employees of AIESL who meet the following criteria as of May 1, 2026, can apply:
- Must have passed all B1 or B2 DGCA modules, or hold a B1/B2 DGCA License within AIESL capability (RT License is preferred).
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of current practical aviation maintenance experience (under CAR 66), with at least 2 years of service within AIESL.
- Must be 52 years of age or younger (age relaxation applies per Government guidelines).
- No, your financial interests are protected. The notification states that your existing pay will be protected during the training period. Furthermore, if you are already drawing a higher salary, salary protection will be strictly provided, and you will be paid according to the AIESL Board-approved policy.
- You are given a maximum window of 4 years from joining as a Trainee AME and being offered a type course to acquire the qualification. If you fail to do so within this period, you will be reverted to your previous position, and the Company will recover your Bond Amount.
Selected candidates must execute two separate bonds:
- Indemnity Bond: A bond of ₹5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to serve the company for a minimum of 5 years from the date of joining or until superannuation, whichever is earlier. This bond is strictly enforceable with no pro-rata relaxation or partial waivers for early exit.
- Type Training Bond: A separate training bond must be executed prior to commencing any Type Training, in accordance with the company policy.
- Eligible candidates must apply afresh online (even if they applied to previous notifications) via the official Google Form link available on the AIESL website. The deadline for submitting the online application is Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1700 hours. Late applications will be rejected automatically.
