1. What roles are available for the apprenticeship at NIT Calicut?
- NIT Calicut is hiring for two types of Apprentice Trainees for the year 2026-27: Graduate Apprentice Trainees (44 positions) and Diploma Apprentice Trainees (35 positions), offering a grand total of 79 positions across various fields like administration, engineering, library science, and healthcare.
The monthly stipend is fixed based on the category:
- Graduate Apprentice Trainees: Rs 15,000/- per month.
- Diploma Apprentice Trainees: Rs 12,500/- per month.
- For Graduate Apprenticeships, candidates must possess the relevant degree with a minimum of 60% marks. For Diploma Apprenticeships, candidates must hold a relevant diploma awarded by a recognized State Board.
- The engagement is purely temporary and strictly for an apprenticeship training period of one year.
The age limit is calculated as on 12.06.2026 and varies by category:
- Graduate: 28 years (UR), 31 years (OBC), 33 years (SC/ST).
- Diploma: 30 years (UR), 33 years (OBC), 35 years (SC/ST).
- Only regular candidates who have completed and acquired their qualifying degree or diploma in or after the year 2022 from a recognized Indian University or State Board are eligible.
