Pay scale of Army Officers and equivalent ranks in Air Force and Navy

• Major (Level 11) : Rs.69,400 - Rs.2,07,200
• Lieutenant Colonel (Level 12A) : Rs.1,21,200 - Rs.2,12,400
• Colonel (Level 13) : Rs.1,30,600 - Rs.2,15,900
• Brigadier (Level 13A) : Rs.1,39,600 - Rs.2,17,600
• Major General (Level 14) : Rs.1,44,200 - Rs.2,18,200
• Lieutenant General HAG Scale (Level 15) : Rs.1, 82, 200 - Rs.2,24,100

Fixed Stipend for cadet Training

• Stipend to OfficerCadetsduring the entire duration of training in Service academies i.e. during training period at IMA and OTA : Rs.56,100/-p.m.* (Starting pay in Level 10)

On successful commissioning, the pay in the Pay matrix of the Officer commissioned shall be fixed in first Cell of Level 10 and the period of training shall not be treated as commissioned service and arrears on account of admissible allowances, as applicable, for the training period shall be paid to cadets.

Age Limit : UPSC Recruitment 2024

• For IMA: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2002 and not later than 1st January, 2007 only are eligible.
• For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2002 and not later than 1st January, 2007 only are eligible.
• For Air Force Academy: 20 to 24 years as on 1st January, 2026 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 2002 and not later than 1st January, 2006 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 2000 and not later than 1st January, 2006 only are eligible.
• For Officers’ Training Academy: (SSC Course for men) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2007 only are eligible.
• For Officers’ Training Academy: (SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January 2007.

Qualification : UPSC Recruitment 2024

1. For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai

• Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

2. For Indian Naval Academy

• Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution

3. For Air Force Academy

• Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Graduates with first choice as Army / Navy / Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation / provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.

Written Examination:

SSB Interview:

• Intelligence and personality tests conducted by Services Selection Board (SSB).

Merit List:

• Based on combined scores of the written exam and SSB interview.
