Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: What is the selection process for the Punjab & Sind Bank Apprentice position? Is there an exam or interview?
- Ans: There is no written examination and no interview for this recruitment. Selection is done purely on a merit basis. Candidates are ranked and shortlisted strictly based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in their HSC / 10+2 (Class 12th) examination. Merit lists are prepared separately for each State, District, and Category. Shortlisted candidates are then called for physical Document Verification and a Medical Fitness check.
Q2: What is the monthly salary/stipend, and what are the working hours?
- Ans: Selected candidates receive a fixed stipend of Rs. 12,300/- per month for the training period of 12 months. Since this is an apprenticeship training program and not a permanent job, you are not entitled to any regular employee allowances (such as daily, traveling, or conveyance allowance). The daily training hours are from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM, and overtime is strictly prohibited.
Q3: I have a Post Graduate degree or work experience. Am I eligible to apply?
- Ans: No. As per the official eligibility criteria, Post Graduate qualification holders are explicitly not eligible to apply. Additionally, candidates who already have 1 year or more of work experience or professional training, or those who completed their qualifying graduation degree more than 5 years ago, cannot apply. The minimum requirement is a regular Graduation degree passed within the last 5 years.
- Ans: No. A candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State and one District. If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the last completed online application will be considered valid, and the application fees paid for any previous registrations will be forfeited. Furthermore, you must be proficient in the local language of the state you choose and have a certificate showing you studied it in school or college.
- Ans: Before applying on the bank's website, you must register and fully complete your profile (100% profile completion) on the official apprenticeship portals:
- apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and
- nats.education.gov.in. You will need your NATS Enrollment ID to fill out the application. Additionally, you must have a valid Aadhaar card, a government photo ID, scanned copies of your signature and left thumb impression, and a webcam/mobile setup to capture a live photograph during registration.
