Qualification : Cochin Port Authority Recruitment 2026

1. Marine Engineer (Class I - Marine Department)

• MOT 1st Class Motor Certificate or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958).
• One year post-qualification experience as Chief Engineer / 2nd Engineer on board a foreign-going ship.

2. Dy. Director (Research) (Class I - Research Division, GAD)

• Essential Qualifications & Experience: 1. Degree in Economics or Statistics / Mathematics from a recognized University/Institution., 2. Five years of executive experience in Planning or in Collection, Compilation & Interpretation of data or in conducting field surveys, investigations, etc.
• Desirable Qualifications: 1.PG Degree / Diploma in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Operational Research and allied subjects from a recognized University/Institution. 2.Knowledge of computer operations.

B. Marine Engineer

Candidates are short-listed through a ranking framework out of 85 marks, followed by a Personal Interview (15 Marks).

Shortlisting Criteria (Max 85 Marks):

(A) Educational Qualification (Max 30 Marks):

• Essential Qualification prescribed: 25 Marks
• Higher qualification in the relevant field: 5 Marks

(B) Experience (Max 55 Marks):

• Post-qualification essential experience: 40 Marks
• Additional experience over and above the essential experience: 2 marks for every additional completed year and month as Chief Engineer; 1 mark for every additional completed year and month as 2nd Engineer (Subject to a maximum of 15 marks).

Final Selection Weightage: 85% for Written Test/Shortlisting and 15% for Personal Interview. Candidates called for interview will range from 6 to 12 times the number of vacancies.
