- Scale of Pay: The Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) [JTO(T)-DR] will be recruited in the IDA pay scale [E-1] of Rs.16,400 - Rs.40,500/- (2nd PRC pay scale w.e.f. 01.01.2007).
- Circle Cadre: JTO is a Circle Cadre and the unit of recruitment will be the respective Recruiting Circle. Recruitment will be made centrally, and candidates will be allotted a particular Circle depending on vacancies, choice, and merit.
- Service Liability: Selected candidates must serve the allotted circle as per the BSNL Transfer Policy. However, officers are liable to be transferred anywhere in India or any place falling in the operational area of BSNL in the interest of service/emergencies.

Telecom Stream: Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent from a Central Govt./State Govt. recognized Institution/University in any of the following disciplines:

Health/Vision Requirements: The applicant must be capable of distinguishing principal colors and must have binocular vision.

Mode of Examination: Candidates must undergo a single-shift, online Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
Exam Duration & Structure: The test lasts for 3 hours and is divided into three sections: Engineering Stream Section I (50 questions), Engineering Stream Section II (50 questions), and General Ability Test Section III (20 questions).
Marking Scheme: A total of 120 questions carry a maximum of 480 marks. Each correct answer awards +4 marks, while each wrong answer incurs a negative marking of -1 mark.
Sectional & Overall Cut-offs:
Post-Exam Formallities: Shortlisted candidates from the merit list must successfully pass a document verification process and meet BSNL's prescribed medical examination standards before receiving a final offer letter.
- UR and OBC (CL) Candidates: Must secure a minimum of 40% in each individual section and a combined overall minimum of 50% across all sections to qualify.
- SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, and EWS Candidates: Must secure a minimum of 35% in each individual section and a combined overall minimum of 45% across all sections to qualify.
