Salary Details : MDL Recruitment 2026

• Stipend Metric: Shortlisted candidates selected for training will receive a regular monthly stipend as per the rules of the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• Disbursement Mode: The monthly stipend is credited directly to the selected candidate's verified savings bank account via Electronic Clearing Service (ECS).
• Mandatory Criteria: To facilitate stipend disbursements, selected trainees must possess a valid PAN Card.
• Other Facilities: Trainees are entitled to standard leaves and holidays governed strictly by the Apprentices Act. However, Mazagon Dock does not provide any hostel or residential accommodation during the training tenure.

Age Limit : MDL Recruitment 2026

• Group A : 15 to 19 years
• Group B : 16 to 21 years
• Group C : 14 to 18 years

Age Relaxation Rules: Upper age limit relaxation will be given by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC, and 10 years for DIVYANG as per Govt. Rules. This is subject to the submission of a relevant Certificate issued by a Competent Authority.

Qualification : MDL Recruitment 2026

1. Group A (10th Class Passed)

• The candidate should have Passed SSC with General Science & Mathematics, securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/DIVYANG/AFC (Pass Class for SC/ST Only). Candidates with Higher qualification may also apply, but eligibility will be based on SSC marks qualification only. Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI) category applicants will be considered in Pipe Fitter Trade only.

2. Group B (I.T.I Passed)

• Passed ITI in Fitter / Draftsman (Mechanical) / Electrician / ICTSM / Electronic Mechanic / Plumber / Welder / Computer Operator & Programming Assistant / Carpenter or Wood Work Technician / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (RAC) trades from Govt./ Govt recognized Institute. Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/DIVYANG/AFC (Only Pass Class for SC/ST). Applicants appearing in the final exam can apply but they will be required to pass the final exam on or before 01-10-2026.

3. Group C (8th Class Passed)

• 8th Std. under (10+2) system Passed with Science & Mathematics, securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/DIVYANG / AFC (Pass Class for SC/ST Only).

Selection Process : MDL Recruitment 2026

1. Stage-1: Computer-Based Test (Online Examination)

Eligible candidates are first required to clear a nationwide Online Written Examination consisting of 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in a duration of 2 Hours (120 minutes). The exam pattern varies by group:

Group A (10th Class Passed) & Group C (8th Class Passed): * English & General Knowledge (25 Questions)

• Mathematics (25 Questions)

Group B (ITI Passed - Most Trades):

• English & General Knowledge (25 Questions)
• Trade Theory (25 Questions)
• Workshop Calculation & Science (25 Questions)

Group B (COPA Trade Only):

• Trade Theory (75 Questions)
• English & General Knowledge (25 Questions)

2. Stage-2: Document Verification & Trade Allotment

Candidates who pass the computer-based test will be provisionally shortlisted based on their score rank.

• Shortlisted applicants must present all original credentials for physical verification (including age proof, educational qualifications, Aadhaar card, and competent authority caste/category certificates).
• Trade Allotment is conducted at this stage based on the student's exam merit rank and structural preference choices.

3. Stage-3: Medical Examination

• Before final selection, provisionally selected candidates must pass a standard medical fitness test conducted by the medical authorities or panel authorized by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited to certify physical suitability for rigorous industrial yard environments.

4. Final Selection & Waitlist

• Upon clearing all elements (CBT Merit + Document Clearance + Medical Fitness), the final selection merit list is generated. If selected candidates do not join or fail to meet the norms during onboarding, the vacant positions are allocated sequentially to candidates from the reserved waitlist.
