- 19 to 25 years as of 01 January 2027 (Candidates must be born not earlier than 02 January 2002 and not later than 01 January 2008, both dates inclusive). The date of birth written in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate will be final.

For NCC 'C' Certificate Holders:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum acceptable qualification. Final year students can apply provided they complete and obtain their Graduation Degree before the course starts. For final year students, the aggregate percentage of the first two/three years will be considered for shortlisting.
- NCC Service: Must have served for a minimum of two/three years in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
- Grading Requirement: Minimum of a 'B' Grade in the NCC 'C' Certificate Exam. Applicants without the 'C' Certificate or Provisional 'C' Certificate on the date of application are not eligible. Provisional certificate holders must obtain their original 'C' certificate before heading for the SSB interview.
- Eligibility: Available for unmarried sons and unmarried daughters (including legally adopted daughters) of Army personnel who were killed in action, died of wounds/injuries, wounded/injured, or reported missing/presumed dead.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- NCC 'C' Certificate Requirement: NOT required for the Wards of Battle Casualties.
