Salary Details : Indian Army Recruitment 2026
  • Fixed Stipend During Training: Rs.56,100 per month (Level 10).
  • Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs.15,500 per month fixed (from Lieutenant to Brigadier rank).
  • Technical Allowance (Tier-II): Rs.4,500 per month.
  • Children Education Allowance: Rs.2,250 per month per child (up to the two eldest surviving children from pre-primary to class 12).
  • Transport Allowance (TPTA): Rs.7,200 + DA in Higher TPTA cities; Rs.3,600 + DA in other locations.
  • Risk/Hardship Allowances: Ranges from Rs.1,200 up to Rs.25,000 per month depending on matrix levels (e.g., Flying, Special Forces, High Altitude), with Siachen allowance up to Rs.42,500 per month.
Note on DA: Whenever the Dearness Allowance increases by 50%, the specific allowance rates will automatically increase by 25%.

Age Limit : Indian Army Recruitment 2026
  • 20 to 27 years as of 01 April 2027 (Candidates born between 02 April 2000 and 31 March 2007, both days inclusive). (The Date of Birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate will be final) .
  • Age Limit for Widows of Defence Personnel: Maximum 35 years as of 01 April 2027 for both SSCW (Non-Tech) (Non-UPSC) and SSCW (Tech) entries.



Qualification : Indian Army Recruitment 2026
  • Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of their Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply.
  • Final year candidates must pass the engineering examination by 01 April 2027 and produce the degree certificate within 12 weeks of the commencement of training at the Pre-Commission Training Academy (PCTA).
  • Failure to submit the degree certificate within the stipulated timeline will result in the recovery of the cost of training, stipend, and allowances received on an additional bond basis.
  • Note on Mismatch: Any mismatch between the engineering stream mentioned in the degree certificate/marksheet and the stream filled in the online application will result in immediate cancellation of candidature.
  • For Widows of Defence Personnel: * SSCW (Non-Tech) (Non-UPSC): Graduation in any stream.
SSCW (Tech): B.E./B.Tech in any engineering stream.

Minimum Physical Standards (Before Joining Academy)

Officer Cadets (Women) must achieve the following minimum standards:
  • 2.4 km Run: 13 minutes
  • Push-ups: 15 repetitions
  • Pull-ups: 02 repetitions
  • Sit-ups: 25 repetitions
  • Squats: 30 repetitions times 2 sets
  • Lunges: 10 repetitions times 2 sets
  • Swimming: Basic knowledge is required

  • Training Location & Duration: Officer Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, Bihar, for 49 weeks starting April 2027 to March 2028.
