Training Period & Stipend: : RRC North Central Railway Recruitment 2026
  • Training Period: The selected Applicants are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 01 (ONE) year.
  • Stipend: Selected Candidates engaged as Apprentices will undergo Apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will be paid a Stipend during the training at the prescribed rate as per extant rules governed by the concerned State Governments & instructions issued by Railway Board.

Age Limit : RRC North Central Railway Recruitment 2026
  • General Candidates : 15 to 24 Years
  • SC/ST Candidates : Upper age relaxed by 5 Years
  • OBC Candidates : Upper age relaxed by 3 Years
  • PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) : Upper age relaxed by 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen : Upper age relaxed up to additional 10 Years (service rendered in Defence Forces + 3 years, subject to minimum 6 months continuous service)


Qualification : RRC North Central Railway Recruitment 2026
  • Educational: Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
  • Technical: ITI certificate / National Trade Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India is compulsory.

Selection Process : RRC North Central Railway Recruitment 2026
  • Merit-Based: Selection will be based purely on a merit list prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the applicant in both Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate required) and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.
  • No Test: There will be no written examination or viva/interview.
  • Tie-Breaking: If two applicants have identical marks, the older applicant is preferred. If their dates of birth are also identical, the applicant who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be preferred.
  • Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called to the extent of 1.5 times the number of notified slots.

Q10: What happens if I want to leave the apprenticeship training program before completing the 1-year duration?
  • If an apprentice prematurely terminates the contract due to their own failure to carry out the terms, they (or their guardian, if a minor) will be liable to pay back the cost of training, which is calculated as an amount equivalent to 3 months of their last drawn stipend.
